Honda VF700C Super Magna (2 Year only bike)
The Super Magna was only built in 87-88. It was in response to the 50% tarrif that was placed on any foreign motorcycles having more than 700cc's. This was a law passed by the lobbyists to spur the sale of Harley Davidsons. The Super Magna was designed by Arlen Ness. The only difference between what you see here and what Arlen drew is the shaft drive. Arlen wanted it to be chain driven "it's gotta be able to smoke tires". I'll keep the shaft thank you very much.

The Super Magna got it's name because it was totally different than any other Magna before or after it. Just to slap Harley Davidson in the face Honda tuned this bike to put out 88 Horsepower (twice that of a stock HD). Yet it cost half as much and had much better handling.

This is the Magna I am selling
It was totally serviced before this riding season the tires are in great shape and it has the rear seat and backrest that are very difficult to find. The backrest was a Honda factory accessory.
There is a small (golf ball?) dent in the tank, see picture.
I also have a complete running parts bike if you are interested.
If you aren't familiar with Magna's what made the 87-88 Magna so desirable was it had Shaft Drive, 6 speed transmission, Hydraulic Clutch, Hydraulic self adjusting Lifters, and unique styling. In 94 Honda started making the 750 Magna again but with more conservative styling. Unfortunately to keep the price down it had Chain Drive, 5 speed transmission, Cable Clutch and mechanical lifters that required maintenance.
Notice how low this bike sits?
The seat height is around 27 inches. It was designed to be as low as possible without sacrificing handling. My wife is 5'4" and she can ride this bike with no problems. It has a very low center of gravity. Despite how low and long it is, it still has enough power to lift the front wheel if you aren't careful.
4 exhausts and a really fat rear tire!
The rear wheel is a solid Aluminum disk! There is no other bike in the world that looks like a Super Magna. There are Super Magna Clubs, Mailing Lists, Custom accessories, it is truly a CULT BIKE!
They just don't make them like this anymore...
Now bikes are much safer, they are restricted, and more lawyer proof. I have ridden the new Magna's and I am not impressed. They are nowhere near as quick or smooth as this bike. Unfortunately Honda is in business to make money, and this bike was expensive to produce.
10,000 RPM This aint your ordinary cruiser.
22,932 Miles. This bike has been winterized, but I will probably pull it out in early March. The bike will come to the buyer 100% ready to ride.
